His Majesty's Children (5) is the eightieth chapter of Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children.

Synopsis[]

Masara's energy ring slices Kaoru Akashi's face. Kōichi Minamoto reacts and pulls his gun from its holster. Batura XVII tells Minamoto to wait and reminds him of the difference in perception in and out of the barrier. Fujiko Tsubomi advises him to take a look inside the barrier, which he does, and sees that The Children are still children and that the cut on Kaoru's face is only a graze.

Batura XVII assures Minamoto and Tsubomi that if it seems like The Children are going to lose, he has troops hidden in the surrounding area to take down Masara. They comment on how cowardly his plan is. He explains that he is willing to do anything for love. Tsubomi compares his relationship with Sera to that of Minamoto and The Children.

Masara launches her energy rings at Kaoru who easily deflects them. Kaoru tries to avoid the battle dragging on, and goes for a direct attack. Masara reminds her that she is also a Level 7 and unleashes a powerful blast. Kaoru realizes that Masara is stronger than her. Minamoto warns Kaoru that at the current power output, the loser will be ripped to shreds; he asks her to keep it at a safe level. She refuses and goes all out. The barrier begins to break, and Tsubomi realizes that the city will likely be destroyed too.

Masara asks the priestesses of the past to lend her their power, but they refuse. Sera had been communicating with them and has convinced them to let her and Batura XVII be together; Masara is the only one left of opposing opinion. Masara refuses to be deterred and keeps up her attack.

Tsubomi warns them that although persistance is good when it comes to love, being too forceful will drive a guy away. She questions Minamoto whether girls are a lovely when they don't need protecting. Aoi Nogami and Shiho Sannomiya pretend to be attacked by the rare metal idols in order to win Minamoto's favor.

Kaoru knows she can overpower Masara, but can't without destroying the city, and wishes for a more feminine way to win. She remembers what Tsubomi had done earlier, and seductively tickles Masara's back to disable her. Tsubomi claims to not know where Kaoru learned that behavior.
