School Days (2) is the one hundred and forty-first chapter of Takashi Shiina's Zettai Karen Children.

Synopsis[]

Shiho Sannomiya massages Kaoru Akashi who is sore after all of her athletics practice. They and Aoi Nogami discuss Kaoru's impressive reflexes, especially in comparison to other Espers who don't usually get enough exercise because they rely on their powers. Shiho grows tired of massaging Kaoru, so Kaoru begs Aoi to do it instead, but Aoi refuses and suggests she get her "coach", meaning Kōichi Minamoto, to do it instead. Kaoru starts to fantasize about Minamoto massaging her before becoming embarassed and accusing Aoi of being perverted. Shiho wonders how Kaoru can so easily switch between acting innocent and lecherous herself.

Minamoto lies on his bed, contemplating the regulations on Espers competing in sports. He imagines a future where Kaoru is playing baseball, but after being outed as an Esper she is banned from playing again. The despair of this event leads her to fly away, and not noticing an oncoming aircraft which she collides with and dies. Minamoto falls asleep and is awoken the next morning by the girls who are already dressed and fed, and they leave for school. Minamoto wonders aloud how he could possibly tell them about the laws about their powers, and is surprised when Taizō Kiritsubo responds, realizing that the girls had called Koritsubo to cook their breakfast rather than wake him. Minamoto and Kiritsubo talk over breakfast, and Kiritsubo makes the decision that they do nothing and let it run its course.

After school finishes, Kaoru's teacher approaches her to ask her decision about joining a school club. Kaoru is about to give her answer when The Children's limiters alert them to an emergency; they rush away and Kaoru promises to answer later.

They teleport to the scene of the predicted event and the girls are surprised to learn that they will assisted by The Double Face on the mission. Kaoru provokes them by suggesting that they are too old to do their usual job as receptionists, however they explain that they will still be doing so part-time, but some new receptionists were hired so they will have the time to go on missions. Oboro Kashiwagi explains that there will soon be an accident on the road; The Children wait on standby for something to happen.
